Words are belittled more and more as we grow up because we misuse them to the extreme of abuse I guess. We say I love you but we dont mean it. We ask how are you but we are not interested. We assure people we will pray for them but we dont. We promise lets meet up but it does not happen.
But every now and then, there is a friend that comes along, and really means what he/she says. And because of that few heartfelt words, it melts your heart and allows it to believe in the power of words again. What a chat with Joan in Macs just now. It wasnt anything grand, just both of us after a tiring day. It felt so familiar, so comfortable and so at rest. Knowing each other so well, there was no pretense in the conversation. It was just so....nice. Leaving after about 40 mins, this is the text I got from Joanny hoe.
"Am very heartened by how familiar and comfortable with each other but you still treat me with respect, patience, and understanding. Appreciate how you squeeze your time to meet despite your packed schedule and the time might be incredibly short like today's. Thank you too, for speaking up for me when Josh asked about me. And thanks for 'showing' me that you know me, when i said i like and wanted to buy the sweater but you said a prolly wont wear. I love youuuuuuuuu(:"
(: So thankful for a friendship like this. God is good.
